HeartSaver® First Aid CPR AED
CPR New York, powered by Same Day CPR and CPR VAM, offers fully accredited American Heart Association certification courses in CPR, First Aid, BLS, ACLS, and PALS throughout the state.
Your path starts with the online HeartCode® program, which you complete from home on your own timeline. From there, you visit one of our New York CPR Verification Stations for a 30-minute hands-on skills session using Voice Assisted Manikins (VAMs). These manikins give you real-time audio feedback as you work through each skill, so you are not just going through the motions. You leave with genuine competence and a certification that reflects it.
This blended format works for healthcare professionals, students, and organizations across New York who need their AHA credentials without giving up a full workday or sitting through hours of classroom instruction.
Life-saving skills should be within reach for anyone in New York, whether you work at a hospital in Manhattan or a clinic in Long Island. Our stations are placed where people actually live and work. The process is clear, the locations are accessible, and the training holds up under pressure, because the goal has never been just to hand out cards. It has been to put prepared people in the right places.

Cardiac arrest does not announce itself. In New York City alone, the FDNY EMS system, which serves more than 8.4 million residents, responds to thousands of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests each year. Research published in JAMA Cardiology found that on a single day in April 2020, the city recorded 305 out-of-hospital cardiac arrest cases, a figure nearly ten times higher than the same day a year before, illustrating just how quickly the need can surge in a dense urban environment.
The numbers behind bystander response are stark. Studies consistently show that immediate CPR can double or triple a person’s odds of surviving cardiac arrest, yet bystander CPR rates in major cities like New York have historically lagged behind those in smaller communities, hovering in a range of 32 to 37 percent according to published research. That gap represents real lives.
New York is home to 8.4 million people in the five boroughs alone, with millions more across upstate communities, Long Island, and the Hudson Valley. In a place where a cardiac arrest can happen on a subway platform, in an office, in a school hallway, or on a sidewalk in front of a bodega, the presence of a certified, confident bystander is not a nice idea. It is one of the most practical forms of public safety there is.
